MBB: Wright-Foreman named to USA Basketball’s FIBA Men’s World Cup roster
Colorado Springs, CO – Justin Wright-Foreman, former Hofstra men’s basketball player, was named to the 12-man roster for the United States World Cup Qualifying Squad in February 2021.
Wright-Foreman, a 2019 graduate of Hofstra, also recently signed with Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League. The squadron is the NBA affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans.
Since leaving Hofstra, Wright-Foreman has played for the NBA’s Utah Jazz, NBA G League Salt Lake City Stars and Erie Bayhawks, as well as in France and Turkey.
Team USA will open training camp on February 18 in Washington, D.C., and take part in the second competitive window of FIBA World Cup 2021-23 qualifying matches which will see the USA take on Puerto Rico (1 -1) on February 24 and Mexico (2-0) on February 27. Both matches will be played at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C.
Wright-Foreman is second all-time at Hofstra with 2,327 career points and third in program history with 277 three-pointers. CAA Player of the Year in 2017-18 and 2018-19, Wright-Foreman also won Associated Press All-American honors twice during his career and was an All-CAA performer three times. . He graduated in Rhetorical Studies with a minor in Linguistics from Hofstra in 2019.
