Injury claims for former Seton Hall basketball players dropped

By Mike Curley (April 27, 2022, 1:56 p.m. EDT) — A federal judge in New Jersey has thrown out most of the claims of two former Seton Hall University basketball players in a lawsuit alleging school staff hid the nature of their injuries and allowed them to worsen, leaving only the gross negligence claims of one of the athletes.

In an order filed Tuesday, U.S. District Judge William J. Martini dismissed all of Myles Powell’s claims and all but Jasmine Smith’s gross negligence claims in their action against the university, but allowed some counts to be reconsidered. charge in an amended complaint.
