Wilson-Fame named to USA Basketball’s 2022 FIBA ​​Pro Tour 3×3 roster

PITTSBURG – Former Pitt standout Jared Wilson-Executive is among six players named to Team USA 2022’s FIBA ​​3×3 Pro Tour roster, as announced by USA Basketball on Monday afternoon. Teams will compete in selected 3×3 events from their respective FIBA ​​Pro Circuits throughout the summer and into the fall.

Wilson-Frame played for the Panthers from 2017-19, collecting 822 points, 271 rebounds and 172 three-pointers in 64 career games. As a senior, he averaged 12.7 points and 5.0 rebounds, while scoring 98 three-point field goals. Wilson-Frame averaged 17.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 32 games for the Salt Lake City Stars of the G League last season. He has also played internationally in Belgium and Mexico.

This is the first time USA Basketball has formed a FIBA ​​3×3 Men’s World Tour team. The team was selected by the USA Basketball 3×3 National Team Men’s Selection Committee.

Wilson-Frame is joined on the team by Isaiah Brown, Austin Butler, Hassani Gravett, Khalil Iverson, Rodney Pryor and Keaton Wallace. All have previous 3×3 experience, but all seven athletes will be making their first appearance on the FIBA ​​3×3 World Tour.

The selected athletes all recently competed in the Red Bull USA Basketball 3X Nationals, where they played with select USA Basketball teams to make their 3×3 debut.

Brown and Wallace competed with Dream Ballerz. Both men have experience in the NBA G League before competing. Brown was most recently a member of the Texas Legends, while Wallace most recently competed with the Agua Caliente Clippers.

Butler and Iverson performed with The Four Friends. Butler played with UNC Charlotte in 2021-22, where he finished second on the team in scoring (12.6 ppg) and first in rebounding (6.0 rpg) in his only season with the 49ers . Iverson, who will also represent the United States at the 2022 Men’s 3×3 World Cup this week in Antwerp, Belgium, has been playing professionally internationally and in the NBA G League since graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 2019.

Gravett, Pryor and Wilson-Frame made their 3×3 debuts at the 3X Nationals with Top Shottas. Gravett has the most NBA experience of the group, having played with the Orlando Magic in 2021-22 after signing two separate 10-day contracts in December. Pryor came to the 3×3 scene after playing in the G League with the Stockton Kings.

Different from five-on-five, 3×3 is played on a half-court with a 10-minute game clock and a 12-second shot clock. The game is continuous, the teams “clearing” the ball behind the 2-point line following a basket made, a defensive rebound or a steal. The first team to score 21 points via 1-point or 2-point field goals from behind the arc is victorious; or if time expires, the leading team wins.
